"The America's Cup is the richest sporting event, in my opinion," he said. "And to do it in a city like San Francisco, with the spectators close to the boats, with fast catamarans, it will be quite a show." Though he now lives in Brittany, he's in Cascais, Portugal, this week for the inaugural America's Cup racing series (which began Saturday and continues through next Sunday). But he'll soon be back in the Bay Area, which is fast becoming like a second home. His sister owns the international fashion chain Agns B., which had a Union Square store a few years back, and visits regularly as he helps forge plans for Vuitton's involvement in the Cup. On his signature red linen pants: "There is a tradition here in Brittany, on the Atlantic, for sailors to wear red pants. It is colorful and more fun than a navy blue suit. It is perfect with a navy blazer. Mine are made by my friend in Italy. I have been wearing red pants for many years."
